About
A family-run print house in Colombo
Xpress Solutions is a Sri Lankan-owned printing business on Grandpass Road, with decades of work in offset, digital and corporate colour printing behind it.

What we do
We produce printed material for businesses, brands, organisations and individuals — booklets, brochures, catalogues, labels, flyers, business cards, corporate stationery, posters, promotional items and packaging. Printing runs offset for commercial quantities and digitally for short runs.
Finishing is part of the same operation rather than a service bought in. Lamination, die cutting, foiling and Spot UV are handled in-house, which is why a job does not have to be sent out to a separate finishing house between being printed and being finished.
How a job actually runs
Work starts with a conversation rather than a form. Most enquiries arrive with the product and the quantity settled and everything else open — stock, print method, finishing. We work through that with you, quote against a specific specification, and produce the job against the same specification.
That matters most on repeat work. A brand colour that was set correctly on the first run should look the same on the second, and it will only do that if the specification is written down and printed to again.
Design handled here
We have graphic designers in-house. Artwork that is not production-ready — no bleed, fonts not embedded, a foil layer that has been coloured gold instead of separated — can be corrected here instead of being sent back. Where a piece needs to be designed from scratch, or an existing brand needs to be applied consistently across a set of printed items, we do that work as well.
Typesetting runs in English, Sinhala, Tamil and Arabic, and we proofread all four rather than only placing text somebody else has supplied. That is a different capability from being able to print them: a second script needs its own spacing and line breaks to read properly, and Arabic reads right to left, so it changes a layout instead of filling the space the English occupied. On export labelling and packaging it is usually the part that decides whether the job is right the first time.
Machinery and supplies
There is a second side to the business. We import printing machinery — reconditioned cylinder presses, guillotines, die cutting and foiling machines — along with paper and consumables, and sell them to other printers. It works because the two sides inform each other: the machines we sell are the classes of machine we run, and the paper we import is paper we print on ourselves. Machinery and supplies covers what we bring in.
Who we print for
The range runs from individuals ordering a single item to government bodies, small businesses and large companies with recurring print requirements. The process is the same in each case; only the scale changes.
